Rare-earth permanent magnet NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) is a magnetic material developed in the 1980s. It offers excellent magnetic properties, including high energy product and high coercivity, combined with relatively low cost. NdFeB magnets are widely used in applications such as electro-acoustic devices, electric motors, sensors and transducers, instruments and meters, the automotive industry, petrochemical equipment, and many other industrial products.

NdFeB magnets are extremely powerful and offer a higher maximum energy product, (BH)max, than SmCo magnets. The (BH)max of NdFeB magnets can readily reach 30 MGOe and, depending on the grade, can reach up to 52 MGOe. NdFeB magnets can therefore replace SmCo magnets in many applications, particularly where the required operating temperature is moderate.

NdFeB magnets are especially suitable for applications requiring high magnetic strength within limited installation space. They are available in a wide variety of shapes, including discs, blocks, rings, and customized designs.
